COM 499 Capstone Project Showcase - Oral Presentation
- This showcase was a part of our oral presentation for our capstone project. My classmates and I got a chance to talk to a judge for 10 minutes or so about our capstone project. It was a way to showcase what we have been working on all semester for our big senior capstone project.
COM 340, Rhetoric and Pop Culture - Underappreciated Celebrity Presentation
- For my rhetoric and pop culture class, we had to give a presentation about a celebrity that is under-appreciated for what they do in pop culture. I chose Kumail Nanjiani who is an actor, writer, and comedian. Why I talked about him being under-appreciated is due to the fact he took his talents to the big screen in a huge way by writing with his wife Emily Gordon, and telling their story about how they met, how they dealt with his wife's diagnoses, and their challenges as an interracial couple.
COM 340, Rhetoric and Pop Culture - Group Project and Presentation
- Another presentation for my Rhetoric and Pop Culture course was a group presentation exemplifying what we have learned throughout the semester in the class. What we had to do in my group was pick an artifact (movie, tv show, anything pop culture related) and compare it to another artifact. The point of the presentation was to demonstrate how one or more artifacts can be comparable to each other by using a lens. What my group chose was have Motocrossed (Disney Channel Original Movie) be compared with A League of Their Own, and we utilized the lens we learned called the Femininity Game.
COM 495, Leadership and Strategic Communication - Book Presentation
- For my leadership and strategic communication course, we read a book of our choosing throughout the semester that demonstrated or talked about leadership and strategic communication. At the end of the year, we had to present to the class the book we read throughout the semester, and how it exemplifies leadership and strategic communication. The book I chose to read was Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg, who is currently the COO of Facebook.
COM 350, Organizational Communication - Organizational Case Study
- In organizational communication, we were assigned a case study, or chapter to talk at random at some point during the semester. My chapter of focus was on chapter nine of our book, which was emotion in the workplace. The point of the presentation was to focus chapter material on related material we had learned as a class previously before the chapter. Here is the presentation slides explaining the material I talked about in front of the class.
COM 300 Human Communication Research - Research Proposal Presentation
- In this research class, we had the chance to choose our own topic of focus to research throughout the semester. The point of each assignment for the class was to help us write and formulate research papers. At the end of the semester, we had to present a research proposal to the whole class. Here is the research proposal presentations with details on what was used for research questions, methodology, and results etc. My focus for the research proposal was on how social media has created new forms of communication in our society.
